Kaas Plateau, also known as flower valley is located in Satara district of Maharashtra.
It is visual treat for everyone interested in nature.
Directions:Kaas is ~140Kms from Pune.
Drive towards Bangalore, Satara is 110Kms.
Take Kaas road to reach,~25Kms.
Best time : In / After monsoons.
World Heritage Status:Due to the recent World Heritage Status, number of people visiting has been increased numerously.
And the administration being not up-to the mark makes things messy.
After this vehicles are not allowed to stop in between, fence has been setup both sides.
People are not allowed to cross the fence, avoid weekends to have a peaceful visit.
The flowering season starts after the monsoons. But then, Kaas during the monsoon is no less beautiful.
So, you can still go for a wonderful drive to Kaas.
The plateau is full of wild flowers during the months of August and September. These flowers bloom on their own and stay for about 2–3 weeks.
The patch of flowers appears as if huge carpets are spread.
We started at 6 in the morning to avoid traffic as it is Ganesh Visarjan.
Reached satara at around 8, with no gap we started towards Kaas.
We took few breaks between, to have a glimpse of nature.
The road to Kaas is no less beautiful than Kaas itself.
Reached Kaas at 10, parked our vehicle, walked towards Flower patches.
If you are seeing for first time, you will be amazed by the beauty of nature.
Better to carry water/snacks as you don't find any shops/eateries nearby.

As you drive down the curves of Kaas, you'll find Kaas Talav(lake).
Here you can have good time with friends and family, as the place is peaceful.
You can get snacks here, mainly Corn, Bajiya,Peanuts,etc
